I began working with clay in 2012 during evening hours after my busy clinic shifts working as an Oncology nurse.  I was inspired to become a studio potter while working beside Teresa Schumaker (Winona, MN) experienced potter since 1970’s.  As my mentor she encouraged my flair for curves, color, texture and finger marks in the clay pieces.  Now the desire to throw the perfect bowl sends me to the studio most every day.  

My goal is to create functional stoneware that offers a sensory experience to the user.

I find value in knowing there is a person who finds joy in using my pottery every day.I like to feel the energy in the finished product and I like that the process to get there is complicated.
