Britta Kauppila is a local metalsmith who hand creates all her pieces using fire and hammer and is drawn to the relationship between the maker and the object. Britta's collection is inspired by the many textures of the natural world and interprets them into long lasting precious metals. She loves the contradiction of hard immovable metal mimicking the most soft and delicate pieces in nature. Britta works in sterling silver, 18 karat yellow gold, and an array of colorful gemstones.
